Since being on the beach is one of my favorite things to do, I recently made sure I did a thorough research on how to be properly protected. Sunscreens as it appears are all different and some of them are more effective than others. It is still said that the best protection is the roof but let's be honest here: I love the beach. Here is a few things that I found out:
It's important to ensure you're protected against UVA as well as UVB - look for the following four ingredients in the sunscreen:
titanium dioxide
zinc oxide
ecamsule - Mexoryl SX
avobenzone
The sunscreens I found that contain one of the above are
contains avobenzone
contains zinc oxide
I have been using the Neutrogena one this summer and I have to say it's not the smoothest one to put on - doesn't rub in easily and can leave you with the "mime face" if you don't rub it in well. But I have gotten used to it. Were you also exposed to the sun a lot in your childhood/adolescence following the trend of tanned = healthy? Just the thought of it makes me mad. All we can do now is keep applying the proper protection. Happy Friday!
