Funky Tights and Generously Cut Sweaters

modcloth shoes, tights from the Greenwich Village boutique selling Japanese tights and socks, club monaco skirt, burberry purse, sweater - Parisian find in le Marais

I love this sweater and its unusual cut, it's generous, like a cape but more intricate. Have a great weekend, try not to watch too much of The Wedding, live your own royal life instead ;-)

Butterfly Blouse

Leifsdottir denim shorts, Dani Black anchor shoes, Gucci sunglasses

Being at the Hudson River is one of my favorite things to do in New York. Whether it's to have a mini picnic, read or go for a walk.
I bought this butterfly blouse in Bali. Do you sometimes love something so much that you wish you had it in all the colors? I'd like to own this blouse in all colors...

I noticed that most tulips are already open. Every year I forget how fragile they are...

Links A La Mode - the IFB Weekly Roundup

Being a part of a community is just amazing. So much fun: you have this warm feeling that you're not doing it alone. It's so supportive and important in every entrepreneur's life. You also get great exposure and many opportunities to take advantage of when being in a group.

I'm a part of Independent Fashion Bloggers. Every week we can participate in Links a la Mode - submit our best article of the week. At the end of the week, the editors choose twenty best stories. There are usually over 100 submissions. Upon being chosen you have to post the whole list of links to the twenty winning articles. That means that if your article gets selected as one of the twenty, not only you get exposure on the Independent Fashion Bloggers site but also on the 19 other blogs that will repost the list.

I was lucky my article Me Day - How to Make a Personal Day off Perfect got selected as one of the twenty this week. Please see the list of other chosen features below.

Things Are Gonna Change... I Can Feel It!

Edited by Jessie Thorpe of Denimology
On Monday morning, my life will change. I am having my muffin top and all of my shiny silver stretch marks removed from my fleshy, live-giving form. I'm having plastic surgery, a tummy tuck to be exact, and yes I'm talking right out loud about it. This decision has had my head in a tizzy fashion wise, sending me searching for some fashion guidance to compliment my new figure. I've really been inspired by nostalgic what-comes-around-goes-around fashion trends, feel good fashion and a variety of "Top (insert number here)" lists. 90's trends seem to be popular in the fashion blogosphere; you kids are talking about sheer clothes, color blocking and threads ripped to shreds. I'm really appreciating the inspirational instruction given by all you clever e-journalists. We've been instructed on how and what to wear for the season, how to pamper little ol' you and feel good about it too!

Looking Away from the Bright Side

Sometimes you just feel like looking away from the bright side. You choose to do it. It may be because of life or just because you're tired of the bright side. Your eyes are tired from squinting, your face is tired from smiling. You wish there was some kind of a cave to hide so that noone could see you hiding from the bright side.

Does everyone need to look away from the bright side? What is it usually caused by? Unmet expectations? Need for a change? Too many things at once? Should we try to overcome it and force ourselves to look at the bright side anyway - squint our eyes in the sun, make force-smiles? Or should we just rest and give ourselves some time to look away from the bright side?

100 Fashion Blogs I Noticed

Just a quick note. I'm writing an article 100 Fashion Blogs I Noticed.
What are some of the beautiful fashion blogs with amazing photography that you know of?
My article has about 70 blogs on so far and will be published in a few days.

Thank you!

My Most Watched YouTube Videos

I absolutely love watching great YouTube videos, love the fact how some of them just immediately go viral. The fascinating thing is that videos become viral for different reasons. Some of them for being the worst song ever, others for being really cute or for being very timely such as this T-Mobile Royal Wedding spoof video.

Here's a look at the 5 most seen videos from my YouTube channel. Looking at the number of views, people like watching anything that says sex, they like bull riding, amazing clothes and great how to videos.

#5 Sex and the City DVD Release Party with Manolo Blahnik - over 1,600 views
I had so much fun filming it at the Wynn, Las Vegas. The shoes were gorgeous and the event fun.
Now, the reason why this video got popular was probably the word sex right in the thumbnail.

#4 Mechanical Bull Riding - Night Out in NYC - close to 5,000 views
There's just something sexy and fun about the bull riding that people like watching.

#3 Christian Siriano Spring 2010 - close to 6,500 views
Christian Siriano, former project runway winner is one of the most watched designers of the New York Fashion Week. His shows are always packed, everyone is looking forward to seeing what he came up to this time. His Spring 2010 collection got a lot of attention - the dresses were floating on the water like runway. Gorgeous.

#2 Marc Jacobs Spring 2009 Collection - New York Fashion Week - over 7,000 views
This show was unforgettable. Mirrored runway, gorgeous music with the clothes to die for. I keep rewatching it over and over again.

#1 4HWW Success Story - over 20,000 views
I'm reviewing the Four Hour Work Week book, which has been one of the most useful books in my business. I run my business according to so many principles from this book. The video has been seen by over 20,000 people and inspired a lot of comments and emails.

I love editing and I'm thinking about making new videos. Maybe another how to video or a fashion video with a story featuring the It Shoes like this Alice and Olivia one, I may make a somewhat personal video or maybe how to best spend a day in New York for a fashion lover... Subscribe to my YouTube channel if you want to see what's next...

World Malbec Day

Last night I had a pleasure to be invited to the Malbec World Day at the New York Public Library. The event was hosted by the government of Argentina. There were so many varieties of Malbec - from full bodied to light ones - they had them all, I even got to taste a Malbec rose, which is now by far one of my favorite rose wine varieties.

How gorgeous is the NY Public Library. Any event taking place there will definitely have some extra charm and mystery.

Me Day - How to Make a Personal Day Off Perfect

A day I'll be describing here is not a day when you feel sick, it's not a day when you feel jet lagged after traveling and it's not a day when you have to wait for a cable guy or yet run millions of errands. A Me Day is a special You Day devoted to You and planned around You.
Here are some tips to make it truly perfect.

♥♥♥
It's best if you choose a You Day during the week. Take a day off. It will have a special, memorable feeling. Start with a great planning - look into your calendar and ask yourself if you'd like Your Day to be sunny, cloudy, a Wednesday to break up the work week, a Friday or Monday to extend the weekend. Plan and choose ahead to be able to look forward to it.

Depending on your mood and interests here are some suggestions of the plans for the You Day:

♥♥♥
wake up early and go to the gym or for a run, enjoy your relaxing workout as opposed to your usual rushed one. Not your thing? Stay in bed and pick up a magazine from the "to be read pile."

♥♥♥
take a long shower - leave your skin fresh, exfoliated. Apply a homemade conditioner to your hair. I'd suggest one of these:
- 2 egg whites with half of a mashed-up avocado, leave it in hair for 15 minutes then wash and condition. It leaves hair super smooth.
- apply a cocoa butter treatment mask, let it sit for half an hour, then rinse it out with coconut water. Perfect for fine hair, leaves hair soft and moisturized.
Give your face some love too and treat it to a great mask. I personally love the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask

♥♥♥
Now you're ready to go out and enjoy Your Day to the fullest. Some of the ideas for the rest of the day:

have lunch at a new place, bring your magazine, book or iPad, there is no rush - enjoy your lunch, read, people watch

go and check out the new make-up colors, ask the make-up artist to apply the make-up on you, observe and try to remember the tricks, get a few new things to freshen up your makeup case

visit a book store to browse what's new in the book world and/or magazines

go and watch an indie movie

check out a vintage store

take a yoga or a meditation class

have the freshly squeezed green juice

make a simple healthy snack/meal such as this guacamole recipe, gala has a really easy one!
Mash two avocados, add one (or even two) finely-chopped cloves of garlic, half of a red onion, the juice of two limes, half a tomato chopped up, a good sprinkle of sea salt & a few generous pinches of cayenne pepper. Mix it up well.

get a spa or a parafine manicure and choose an awesome color - one of the Mac Wonderwoman, or one of my favorites - cajun shrimp or turkoise and caicos

Grab your camera and document, shoot what you see, shoot what interests you

Write an article, a post or in your journal
♥♥♥
Spend the end of your You Day on doing something very relaxing, I suggest it involve a good book and a glass of wine or meet a friend and compare your "how was your day" stories...
