Me Day - How to Make a Personal Day Off Perfect

A day I'll be describing here is not a day when you feel sick, it's not a day when you feel jet lagged after traveling and it's not a day when you have to wait for a cable guy or yet run millions of errands. A Me Day is a special You Day devoted to You and planned around You.
Here are some tips to make it truly perfect.

♥♥♥
It's best if you choose a You Day during the week. Take a day off. It will have a special, memorable feeling. Start with a great planning - look into your calendar and ask yourself if you'd like Your Day to be sunny, cloudy, a Wednesday to break up the work week, a Friday or Monday to extend the weekend. Plan and choose ahead to be able to look forward to it.

Depending on your mood and interests here are some suggestions of the plans for the You Day:

♥♥♥
wake up early and go to the gym or for a run, enjoy your relaxing workout as opposed to your usual rushed one. Not your thing? Stay in bed and pick up a magazine from the "to be read pile."

♥♥♥
take a long shower - leave your skin fresh, exfoliated. Apply a homemade conditioner to your hair. I'd suggest one of these:
- 2 egg whites with half of a mashed-up avocado, leave it in hair for 15 minutes then wash and condition. It leaves hair super smooth.
- apply a cocoa butter treatment mask, let it sit for half an hour, then rinse it out with coconut water. Perfect for fine hair, leaves hair soft and moisturized.
Give your face some love too and treat it to a great mask. I personally love the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask

♥♥♥
Now you're ready to go out and enjoy Your Day to the fullest. Some of the ideas for the rest of the day:

have lunch at a new place, bring your magazine, book or iPad, there is no rush - enjoy your lunch, read, people watch

go and check out the new make-up colors, ask the make-up artist to apply the make-up on you, observe and try to remember the tricks, get a few new things to freshen up your makeup case

visit a book store to browse what's new in the book world and/or magazines

go and watch an indie movie

check out a vintage store

take a yoga or a meditation class

have the freshly squeezed green juice

make a simple healthy snack/meal such as this guacamole recipe, gala has a really easy one!
Mash two avocados, add one (or even two) finely-chopped cloves of garlic, half of a red onion, the juice of two limes, half a tomato chopped up, a good sprinkle of sea salt & a few generous pinches of cayenne pepper. Mix it up well.

get a spa or a parafine manicure and choose an awesome color - one of the Mac Wonderwoman, or one of my favorites - cajun shrimp or turkoise and caicos

Grab your camera and document, shoot what you see, shoot what interests you

Write an article, a post or in your journal
♥♥♥
Spend the end of your You Day on doing something very relaxing, I suggest it involve a good book and a glass of wine or meet a friend and compare your "how was your day" stories...

Okay...this was a perfect day in my book. It had just enough balance. Plenty of down time and then some interesting wandering around time. I am going to plan my day now that I'm inspired! Great post.
